The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest Book What’s that in the photo above, below the cartoon? That’s right, it’s a tag cloud! A mainstay of “Web 2.0” networking sites, now faithfully reproduced in ink upon the squashed and mangled corpses of dead trees. Go, technology!
BTW, the way the book works is, each right-hand page has a cartoon and the tag cloud (meant to inspire you, the reader, to come up with your own ideas). Turn the page over, and on the other side is the same cartoon with the winning caption, plus the runners-up and a pie chart showing which captions got how many votes. (Pic above is a screencap from a “search inside the book” on its Amazon page)
