People who’ve been online for less than 8 or 10 years might be a little surprised at the ubiquity of eulogies for Brad Graham, who died recently. Who was this Brad guy, anyway, and why does every blogger seem to have a story about him?
Anil Dash’s eulogy does a great job of explaining why there are so many others.
I was never a big huge Bradlands fan, but I was always aware of him and visited his blog quite a bit over the years. He’s famous for (jokingly) coining the word “blogosphere,” but his spirit is what inspired the early bloggers’ community spirit, and led to Peter Merholz suggesting the word “weblog” should be pronounced “we blog.”
